Sparta Camera Club Members at the Skylands Juried Art Exhibit

Sparta Camera Club is well represented at the current Sussex County Art and Heritage Council's 26th Annual Skylands Regional Juried Art Exhibit.

The Skylands exhibit has become a benchmark for quality art shows in the New Jersey highlands. All artists 18 years of age or older are invited to submit entries, and all media are accepted. This year 74 works of art were selected from over 200 entries by artists in the tri-state area and beyond and cash prizes totaling $3,000 were awarded. This year Lydia Viscardi, an art educator, gallery curator, and mixed media artist whose award-winning work is frequently on exhibition, was chosen to be the juror.

Eleven members of the Sparta Camera Club had 18 photographs selected for the exhibit. Three of the twelve awards presented in the exhibit were given to members of SCC. 

SCC members and photographs that were selected for the exhibit are:
- Kathy Brennan-Hughes: "Junk" and "Uptown"
- Poliana DeVane: "Enduring" and The Standoff"
- Ron Douros: "Lost Burro Mine" and "Bridge View"
- Don Freeman: "The Clearing Storm at Sunset Point, Bryce Canyon N.P" and "Misty Morn in Cayonlands N.P."
- Trevor Hodgson: "Day Lily" and "Memories"
- Marv Kaminsky "Before the Rain" and "Jellyfish"
- Nicki McManus: "Chair"
- Mark Miller: "Harbor Storm"
- Gina Pierson: "Hedden Park in Pink" and "Rain Berries"
- Jane H Rapp: "Water Feature"
- Carol Trempor: "Waiting Game with Cat"

SCC member that won awards are:
- Mark Miller for "Harbor Storm" - The Anne H. Hanifan Memorial Award
- Poliana DeVane for "The Standoff" - The Dr. John and Mrs. Katherine Bonner Award
- Marv Kaminsky for "Jellyfish" - The Mr. & Mrs. Gelard Tedesco Award - for Photography

The exhibit runs till June 1st at the SCA&HC Gallery, 133 Spring Street, Newton, NJ.
