All Events (Past and Future)
Events Summary
On Wednesday, September 23rd, Nick Palmieri will share some of his favorite images and invite participants to ask questions about any aspect of photography-from camera settings and composition to post-processing and photographic philosophy. Nick will provide competition tips as well, which will be helpful before EXPO. If you have questions or burning issues or want feedback on a photo, this is your meeting. There will be a Photo Contest Pro contest for you to submit 1 photo for comment. This meeting is an unscripted interactive photography discussion.
This meeting is open to the public, however only SCC members can submit photos for review by Nick.
Sparta Camera Club will host an outing to the Lake Hopatcong Boat Races. This is a great event presented by the Lake Hopatcong Racing Association, which has been holding races at lake Hopatcong for over 50 years. There are several classes and sizes of boats racing, with some reaching speeds of over 100 mph. The races will consist of qualifying races followed by final races later in the day. This is a great opportunity to use your large zoom lenses for some action photos with water spray and colorful boats. The viewing area is large and has vantage points for the entire race course. With EXPO coming up, it is a good time to add something new to your inventory.
Suggested gear is a zoom lens and tripod or monopod. Smaller lenses can be used to capture the nearby action in the pits. Bring a chair if you like.
There will be food trucks on site.
Admission is $10 per person (suggested donation)
Sunscreen and Bug spray is suggested as there will be ticks present.

They will also share some of the photos they have taken on their trips and answer your questions on traveling with your camera.
