  • Manhattan, NY

Each year at the end of May and around the middle of July a phenomena occurs called "Manhattanhenge" when the sun lines up perfectly along the east-west streets of Manhattan and you are to capture the sun between the buildings when facing the NJ side of the city.

Please check out this link for a video which gives a lot of useful information about the event:

We may also get the opportunity to do a little street photography around Manhattan that evening while traveling from the train station to the site on 42nd Street and back.  42nd Street gives one of the most "iconic" views of Manhattanhenge as the Chrysler Building and Grand Central Terminal are on that street.

We'll be leaving on the 4:01 p.m. train to Manhattan from the Dover NJ transit station and returning on the 9:51 p.m. train, which is scheduled to arrive at 11:22 p.m.  For more information about parking, etc at Dover train station, please follow the link:  http://www.njtransit.com/rg/rg_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=TrainStationLookupFrom&selStation=35&x=55&y=1

***Please note if it is cloudy and there is a good chance there will be no photograph-able sunset that evening.  This event page will be updated no later than 1 p.m. the day of the event.
